To achieve maximum effect, this Foot Massage DIY will be best done with a friend.

1. You need to soak your feet in water about 40-50 degree Celsius for about 8-10 minutes. You may want to add a few drops of essential / aromatherapy oil. Lavender oil is preferred by many for foot massage purpose.

2. Now you need to dry your feet completely before you begin the foot massage.

3. Apply some massage cream on your hands to add to comfort and ease. It would be good if your hands are first warm up to achieve maximum effect.

4. Start with stroking the top part of your foot, between cords located on top part of foot at instep. Move in the direction from your toe to ankle. Then, continue by stroking the sole of your foot, first gentle pressure and progressively increase the pressure of the foot massage.

5. Massage your foot in circular motions with your thumb and fingers over the sole of your foot, and apply more pressure in areas such as your heel or ball of your foot. Begin from the top and work your way towards the lower portion. You would like to massage the side of your foot too.

6. One hand holding on to your foot and the other to rotate the foot, first at the ankle, and then near the ball of the foot. Perform this gently. Repeat this part of the foot massage for about 5-8 times in each direction.

7. Knead the sole by holding the foot with one hand and making a fist with the other, use moderate pressure onto your sole. Repeat the same action to your arch as well.

8. Start with your big toe and work your way towards your pinky toe, massage each toe individually. Roll the toe between your thumb and forefinger as you slide your fingers down the toe to the end, applying gentle pressure. Gently apply pressure and squeeze the till end of each toe.

9. Use your index finger and repeat sliding between each toe about 5-8 times. Complete the foot massage by using your thumb and fingers to perform circular motions over your sole again.

10. The last part of the foot massageinclude stroking the sole and instep for about 10-15 times.

11. Clean excess cream with a soft towel and slip into thick socks to retain moisturizing effect, alternatively you could put on a pair of slippers.

12. You should repeat the foot massage for both with equal amount of pressure and repetitions, as your body abhors asymmetry.
